Unfortunately, in the neighboring state of Madhya Pradesh, there was massive loss of life and property due to consumption of poisonous liquor, which may be compensated by the BJP led Mohan Yadav government there, but the affected families will not be able to forget this incident for the rest of their lives. Some similar situations can happen in Gorakhpur, the home area of CM Yogi in UP, if the local administration, police team and the most responsible Excise Department officers do not warn in time.
In fact, here in the Narkhata area of Sahjanwan tehsil, a few km away from Gorakhpur city, a government country liquor shop was seen running between the ponds filled with rain water and the weeds. When Tarunmitra team was passing by, we saw that liquor lovers had started coming to this shop even before the scheduled time of 10 am, because there was silence all around and it was early in the morning, so much inquiry was not possible.
On the back site wall of Desi Daru, ‘Government Desi Liquor Shop’ was found written in big letters on the yellow colored wall and in such a situation, how far the font of its words was right or wrong as per the excise rules, was the subject of investigation. But the most surprising thing was that whenever the Excise Department allots a shop in a new financial year or in between, then the boundary wall around the concerned allotted shop and its photo is also put up along with the license.
Now in such a situation, if the current photo of the said liquor shop is taken on the spot, then no concrete boundary will be visible, because there is a whole farm and barn like environment around and behind and the shop is also running in a rough condition. Another aspect to be examined is whether this local liquor shop is situated at a regular distance of 220 meters from the Gorakhpur Link Expressway, or something else.
Departmental experts say that such situations are mostly seen in the allotment of country liquor shops and their ground operations, but especially during the rainy season, if the concerned shopkeeper and the local excise team do not show vigilance and alertness regarding human safety and protection from unruly elements, then any untoward or unpleasant incident can happen due to this. In this way, in a country liquor shop running in an open house, any person can go inside and mix anything, or can move the goods here and there in some different way.
By the way, let us tell you that perhaps two days before writing the news, when the Excise team raided a model shop located in Nausadh of Gida area of the same tehsil, they found that English liquor bottles were being sold mixed with water. That is, overall it is right to say that if the excise teams do not do their departmental work properly on the field, then opportunists are not afraid to indulge in illegal liquor related activities as soon as they get a little space and earn extra profits.
