Father kidnaps son to bring back wife

Rampur: To put pressure on his angry wife to return from her maternal home, a man conspired to kidnap his innocent son. The police exposed the case and arrested the accused father and his friend and recovered the child. On September 6, Bilaspur resident Vikas Kashyap had filed a complaint in the Bilaspur police station alleging that an unknown person had kidnapped his three and a half year old son Karthik. The police registered an FIR and started investigation. It was found that Vikas had two wives. Both of them lived together.

While he has two sons from his first wife, he has a son and two daughters from his second wife Vineeta alias Tarannum. On August 19, the second wife had gone somewhere without informing, whose disappearance was also registered by Vikas on August 21. Later it was found out that the second wife had gone to her maternal home. With the aim of putting pressure on his wife and bringing her back and implicating her relatives, Vikas along with his friend Shambhu, a resident of village Bhaksaura police station Khajuria, A conspiracy was hatched. Shambhu picked up the child and took it to Sitarganj in Uttarakhand so that the case would appear to be a complete kidnapping and the police would put pressure on his wife’s family and bring his wife back.
When the police team examined the CCTV footage of the area and took the help of technical evidence and surveillance, Vikas’s activities were found suspicious.

On Thursday, the police took Vikas into custody and interrogated him from the zero point of Naveen Mandi, after which he confessed to his crime. After this, the police team raided Sitarganj (Uttarakhand) and recovered innocent Karthik safely. The police also arrested the second accused Shambhu. The police have taken legal action by recovering both the accused and the numberless Splendor motorcycle and helmet used in the crime.
