Pakistan former PM Imran sister arrested, protest march on 27th

According to former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the police have intensified action ahead of the proposed nationwide protest march on September 27. Lahore Police on Sunday arrested Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khan from her Lahore residence.

Alima Khan was actively engaged in the strategy and preparations for the proposed protest demanding the release of her brother Imran Khan. His arrest has been confirmed by PTI. However, Lahore Police has not yet given any official information regarding the reason for the detention of Alima Khan.

Imran Khan has been in jail for more than three years. From time to time, his family and his two sons have been raising concerns about his health. The family has also accused Pakistan’s military leadership of interfering in Imran Khan’s case, although there have been different reactions to these allegations from the parties concerned.

PTI has called for a nationwide protest march on September 27 demanding the release of Imran Khan. Meanwhile, the arrest of Alima Khan is being seen as an important action in the preparations of the party. Official information from the police regarding the circumstances of his arrest and further legal action is awaited.
