“Whether war breaks out or not, our policies will not change”, Abbas Araghchi

Tehran: Amid fears of another war in the Middle East, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that whether another war breaks out or not, Iran’s policies will remain the same. He warned that if America or any other country tries to take military action against Iran again, it would be a completely imprudent step. Araghchi made this statement during an event in Tehran.

“The situation in Hormuz will never be the same again.”
The Iranian Foreign Minister claimed that after the 40-day war, the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will never be the same. He said that this conflict has brought fundamental changes in the regional security system and now a new reality has been established in West Asia. “The Strait of Hormuz will never be the same as before the 40-day war,” Araghchi said. Describing this conflict as a turning point in regional history, he said that the war has affected the entire security system of the region. “This war must end on all fronts,” he said. His statement indicates that Iran wants a comprehensive solution to the conflict rather than limiting it to just one front.

Iran claims- destroyed more than 80 American aircraft
Araghchi also made big claims about American military losses during the war. According to him, Iranian forces destroyed more than 80 American aircraft and fighters during the conflict. He alleged that almost all of these aircraft were targeted by missiles while on the ground. The Iranian Foreign Minister also claimed that almost all US military bases in the region were destroyed and hundreds of buildings there were damaged.

Trump’s warning – Iran may be attacked soon
On the other hand, US President Donald Trump indicated on Saturday that the possibility of early military action against Iran cannot be ruled out. While speaking to reporters after voting in Florida, he was asked whether the US could attack Iran. To this, Trump said, “Do you really think I’m going to tell you that? Maybe tomorrow… it’s a possibility. It’s also possible that we get a good, big, wonderful deal.”

Trump claimed that Iran wants to make a deal, but the main question is whether it will abide by the deal. He praised the US Navy and Army while defending US military operations in West Asia. Trump claimed that due to American action, all Iran’s fighter planes have been disabled and 259 ships have been sunk in the sea. Referring to Iran’s economy, he also talked about record inflation there.

Iran called the news of agreement on Hormuz fake
Meanwhile, Iran has rejected reports of a reported proposal to lift the US naval blockade in exchange for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. According to Tasnim, a news agency affiliated with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), Iran has not presented any new proposal to Pakistani mediators. The report quoted sources as saying that the news published by a Saudi Arabian media outlet that Tehran had sent such a proposal to the US through Pakistan was a “false and fabricated story”.

Earlier news had come that Iran has proposed to America to lift the American naval blockade in exchange for opening the Strait of Hormuz. According to Iranian news channel Press TV, sources who spoke to Tasnim described the report as false. On one hand, there are warnings of military action between Iran and America, while on the other hand, statements are also coming out regarding a possible agreement. In such a situation, the security situation in the Strait of Hormuz and West Asia may remain an important center of regional tension in the coming days.
