Keep these things in mind before investing in FD
Before investing money in FD, it is important to see for how long you can keep the amount invested. If money may be needed before maturity, then definitely check the rules for premature withdrawal. In some FDs, there may be a penalty for premature withdrawal of money or the interest may be reset. Additionally, the interest received from FD is taxable as per your applicable income tax slab. TDS can also be deducted if the interest received exceeds the prescribed limit.
