Brendon McCullum resigns as England coach — When is England’s next Test match?

England announced on Sunday that Brendon McCullum has stepped down as the coach of its red-ball team following a string of poor results.

McCullum will remain in charge of England’s white-ball teams.

His resignation comes immediately after a 1-2 home defeat to New Zealand, marked by the retirement of captain Ben Stokes midway through the third Test. England also suffered a 1-4 hammering in the Ashes away in Australia at the turn of the year.

England will now be searching for a new captain and coach before its next Test assignment. It next plays red-ball cricket in August, when it will take on Pakistan in a three-match home series.

It will subsequently embark on a three-match tour of South Africa in December.
