The auction will commence with capped players in the following categories: batters, all-rounders, spinners, wicketkeepers, and pacers. The next phase see the auction of uncapped players.
After a set number of players, as decided by the franchises, have gone through the auction floor, the event will proceed in an accelerated format. Once all 150 players have been presented for auction once, the franchises will nominate a few unsold names, who will go through an accelerated auction once again.
