New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal will march to the Prime Minister’s residence on Tuesday with letters from the public in protest against E-20 petrol. He said he will leave the AAP headquarters at 12 noon with 100 people for the Prime Minister’s residence. “We hope the Prime Minister will meet and listen to us,” he said.
He stated that in just a few days, 233,238 people have signed an online petition to the Prime Minister against E-20. He also requested an appointment with the Prime Minister a month ago, but has yet to receive a response. He asked the Prime Minister whether the government is forcibly imposing ethanol on the country under pressure from Trump and whether it will purchase $20 billion worth of ethanol over the next five years.
Targeted the central government regarding E-20
Addressing a press conference at AAP headquarters on Monday, party national convener Arvind Kejriwal said that the country’s people are deeply troubled by ethanol, and the Modi government at the center is forcibly imposing it on them. People’s mileage is decreasing and their vehicles are breaking down. Despite this, the government is forcibly imposing it without answering questions or providing any reasoning. This suggests the government has a hidden agenda.
Allegations of ethanol import under pressure from Trump
Arvind Kejriwal said that one allegation being made is that Modi is caving in to Trump’s pressure. Trump wants to force his country’s ethanol into India. According to one estimate, Modi will purchase $20 billion worth of ethanol from Trump in the next five years, which will be imposed on our country. Modi wants to ruin the vehicles of our citizens.
E-20 Town Hall program mentioned
Arvind Kejriwal further said, “On Saturday, we held a town hall against E20, which was a huge success. There were a lot of people inside and outside the hall, and about 700,000 people were watching the event live. I think it’s a world record that 700,000 people were watching a live event online.”
This shows how deeply people are upset with E-20 and how they have come out in support of Townhall. Yet, people are being severely intimidated. If any influencer, content creator, or victim speaks out against E-20, they are subjected to trolling and intimidation, including filing FIRs against them. Because of this, people are extremely scared.
Online petition and appeal to meet the PM
Arvind Kejriwal said, “A few days ago, we collected signatures on an online petition addressed to the Prime Minister. Within just a few days, 233,238 people have signed this petition. On Tuesday, I will leave the Aam Aadmi Party office at 12 noon with 100 people to the Prime Minister’s residence to present this petition to him.”
We want to personally present this petition to him and discuss how ethanol is wrong and how people are suffering. I even wrote to him about a month ago, asking for time, but I haven’t heard back. So, we’ll take it up with him in person on Tuesday, and we hope the Prime Minister will meet and listen to us.
