Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Justice Swarnakanta – ‘I have taken a decision after listening to the voice of conscience’

New Delhi. Former Chief Minister of Delhi and national convenor of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal has written a letter to Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma. In this letter, Arvind Kejriwal has expressed regret that his hope of getting justice from Justice Swarn Kanta has been shattered. Therefore, now he has taken a big decision, listening to his conscience. He is now deciding to follow Gandhiji’s Satyagraha.

Arvind Kejriwal has clearly written in the letter that he will no longer attend the hearing before Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma. Neither he himself nor through his lawyer will appear in the court. Also, the AAP convener has bluntly said that he has the right to approach the Supreme Court in appeal against the decision of Justice Swarn Kanta.

For your information, let us tell you that on April 20, the bench of Justice Swarn Kanta Sharma had refused to recuse itself from the hearing of the excise policy case. Besides, he had also rejected the petition filed by Arvind Kejriwal and others.

Justice Swarn Kanta had clearly said that a judge cannot recuse himself from the case merely to allay the fear of bias of a litigant. At the same time, no litigant is allowed to pass judgment on the judge without any evidence.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal himself had appeared as a lawyer and made serious allegations against Justice Swarn Kanta in the court. Arvind Kejriwal had claimed that the judge had attended Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) programs several times. That’s why they were afraid that justice would not be done. They decided to follow the path of renunciation.
