A fierce drama was witnessed on the first day (23 August) of the second Test match being played between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo. Team India's opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sri Lankan fast bowler Asitha Fernando had a fight on the field, the video of which is going viral on social media.
Asitha celebrated enthusiastically after taking Yashasvi's wicket but Yashasvi did not react. He was returning to the pavilion silently. Meanwhile, Asitha said something to him, on which Yashasvi got angry. He turned back and clashed with the Sri Lankan bowler. Yashasvi hit Asitha on the head. Seeing the situation worsening, Kamindu Mendis of Sri Lanka came forward and pacified the matter.

Yashasvi hit Asitha for 3 fours.
Yashasvi, who failed to play a big innings in the first Test played in Galle, looked in form. He had scored 45 runs in 52 balls, which included 9 fours. Out of these, he hit 3 fours on the first 5 balls of Asitha in the 17th over. After this the Sri Lankan pacer made a comeback and took the wicket of Yashasvi. Yashasvi missed Asitha's incoming length ball while attempting to punch it to the off side. The ball took the inside edge of his bat and hit the stumps.
After this Asitha celebrated in an aggressive manner, due to which the atmosphere became a bit heated. Although Yashasvi did not think it appropriate to give any reaction but as soon as the Sri Lankan bowler said something to him, he lost his temper. An altercation started between the two. Rest of Sri Lankan players also reached. Meanwhile, Yashasvi angrily hit his head on Asitha's head. Kamindu Mendis intervened and separated the two. Even after this, Yashasvi did not calm down and was seen saying something while going back to the pavilion.
