Ashutosh Ranka and Saurabh Das sent to Tihar jail for five days judicial custody, Shinde gets relief

New Delhi: The attempt to enter Delhi's Jantar Mantar without permission proved costly for two leaders of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP). The Executive Magistrate had today ordered to produce Ashutosh Ranka, Saurabh Das and Ajinkya Shinde before him in the case of forced entry into Jantar Mantar area. After the hearing, Ranka and Das were sent to jail for 5 days judicial custody. At the same time, party founder Abhijit Deepke's political guru Ajinkya Shinde was released after filling a peace bond.

Deepke looked very angry with his colleagues going to jail. He wrote on Instagram that Ashu and Saurabh have been sent to judicial custody for 5 days, but what is their mistake. He sarcastically asked whether hoisting the tricolor at Jantar Mantar was a mistake.

what did the police say

According to Delhi Police officials, Ranka, Das and Shinde were detained early Tuesday. It is alleged that all three crossed the barricades and entered the Jantar Mantar area and started raising slogans demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Sources say that the police have registered a case against all three under several sections. These include forced entry, breaking of prohibitory orders and breaking of bonds to maintain peace. Besides, allegations have also been made of stopping the government employee from his work.

Demand for resignation and dispute over protest site

CJP alleges that there was rigging in the elections and that is why it is demanding Gyanesh Kumar to step down. In recent times, the party had tried to start a movement at Jantar Mantar, but Delhi Police did not allow it to succeed. Actually, Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar had issued an order on October 11. In this, Ramlila Maidan, Burari Maidan and CBD Maidan were mentioned as the designated places for the demonstration. Along with this, Jantar Mantar was removed from the list of protest sites.

CJP has opposed this decision. The party says that if the protests are taken away from the political center of the country's capital, the voice of the public will be weakened.
