Indian shooters will once again enter the field with the intention of repeating their brilliant performance in the Asian Games. Indian shooters had given a strong display of their talent by winning a total of 22 medals in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou.
Now the players are busy finalizing the preparations for the Asian Games 2026, starting from September 19 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Where will the camps be held
Special camps are being organized in New Delhi and Bhopal for the preparation of players. These camps will be organized at Madhya Pradesh State Shooting Academy in Bhopal and Karni Singh Shooting Complex in Delhi. Pistol and rifle shooters will practice in Bhopal from September 5 to 14.
Meanwhile, the camp for skeet shooters has started at Karni Singh campus, while the camp for trap shooters will run from 10th to 18th September.
Focus on mental strength and technical improvement
National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) High Performance Director Pierre Beauchamp said that in these camps, special emphasis will be laid on improving the technical skills as well as mental preparation of the players. He said that in this phase our focus is on accuracy, mental strength and technical improvement rather than more practice.
These final phase camps have been designed to enable the sports science and coaching teams to closely monitor the performance data of each athlete and ensure that the athletes are at their best when they enter the Asian Games Shooting Complex
