Asian Games 2026: Indian shooters have once again brought glory to the country on the stage of Asian Games 2026. India performed brilliantly and won the silver medal in the men’s 10 meter air rifle team event played at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery on Monday. The trio of three promising shooters of the country – Rudraksh Patil, Himanshu Dhillon and Parth Mane have together achieved this historic success. The Indian team secured its place on the podium by scoring an excellent total score of 1890.1 points.
China made world record
In this very competitive match, the gold medal went to China. The Chinese trio of Sheng Lihao, Ma Sihan and Zhang Changdong set a new qualification world record by scoring a total score of 1899.0 points in the qualification round. Due to China’s record-breaking performance, the Indian team had to be content with second place, but this brilliant performance of the team has put another prestigious medal in the country’s kitty.
Rudraksh and Himanshu shined in the individual finals too
After the team competition, very good news has emerged for Indian players from the individual category as well. Rudraksh Patil showed great form and secured third place in the individual qualification round with 631.8 points, while Himanshu Dhillon stood seventh with 630.0 points. Both these Indian shooters have secured their place in the final of the individual event. Whereas, the third Indian shooter Parth Mane stood at 10th position by scoring 628.3 points.
China had three shooters in the top eight qualification spots, but only two players from a country can qualify for the finals. Due to this rule, Zhang Changdong, who finished fifth, was out of the race for the finals despite being in the top eight. China’s Sheng Lihao topped the rankings with an Asian Games qualification record score of 635.4 points, while his compatriot Ma Sihan finished second. Due to this brilliant journey of Indian shooters, the hopes of medals in the individual finals have also increased a lot.
