Neeru Dhanda, who won the title in the individual category, continued her brilliant performance and along with Kainan Chenai has given India its 9th gold in the Asian Games 2026. The pair of Neeru and Kainan have done wonders in the trap mixed team event of the shooting competition. The Indian pair also created a new Asian record during this period.
The pair of Neeru and Kainan had qualified for the finals by finishing fourth. He scored 34 in the final. Qatar's Mohammed Al Rumaihi and Ray Basil won the silver medal with a score of 32. Earlier, Qatar had an Asian record of 30 points, which it had made in January this year. China's Qi Ying and Sun Yunong had to settle for the bronze medal with 23 points.

Neeru won 3-3 medals
Haryana's Neeru has made a great end to her campaign in the Asian Games. On Tuesday, she became the first shooter from India to win a gold medal in the women's trap individual event and during this she also created a new Asian record. Earlier, she had won a silver medal for India in the women's trap team event. In this way he won 3 medals each.

Kainan said – The pairing of me and Neeru is lucky
A total of four teams out of 12 participating in the Trap Mixed Team event qualified for the finals. India had scored 136 in qualifying. China topped the qualifying with 142 points out of 150. It was followed by Qatar (139) and Iran (138). Among the two Indians in the qualifying round, Kainan performed better with a total of 73 points, while Neeru scored 63 points. Kainan maintained his excellent form in the final by consistently hitting good shots, while Neeru also made a strong comeback after a shaky start.
Kainan's father Darius was also a national level shotgun shooter. Kainan termed his and Neeru's pairing as lucky. Earlier, both of them had won the bronze medal in the World Cup this year. He said, 'We hope that we will keep the pairing as a mixed team but it all depends on the federation also.'
Neeru said that his score in the qualifying round was not that good. He said, 'There was stiffness in the body due to yesterday's competition and the rain and cold had a bad effect on the body.'
