After being stopped from consuming drugs and not being given money, a crazy man brutally killed his own wife and 12 year old innocent daughter by cutting them with a sharp weapon. After committing the crime, the accused locked himself outside the house and fled.
As soon as the news of this double murder spread, a sensation spread in the entire locality and an atmosphere of great fear was created among the people. The deceased have been identified as 40-year-old Babli and her 12-year-old daughter Tamanna, who was a Class 7 student. The deceased's brothers Shera and Vijay told that their brother-in-law Jaswinder Masih did not do any business and was completely addicted to drugs. The family had come to live in this colony in a rented house about a year ago.

According to family members, the accused used to beat Babli every day and snatch money from her to meet her drug needs, while Babli was working in the houses of the locality to support her daughter's education and household expenses. Babli and Tamanna often stopped Jaswinder from taking drugs, due to which there were fights in the house almost daily. On Friday too, there was a lot of altercation between Jaswinder and daughter Tamanna, about which Tamanna informed her maternal relatives over phone.

When the family called Babli on Saturday morning, no one answered. Fearing something untoward, the parents immediately reached the spot, where they saw that the main door of the house was locked. When he got suspicious, he broke the lock and entered the house and was shocked to see the scene in front of him. The bodies of Babli and Tamanna were lying soaked in blood inside the room, after which the police was immediately informed.
Police started investigation, accused absconding
As soon as the news of the incident was received, DSP City Sukhindra Singh along with the police force reached the spot along with the team of Civil Line police station. The police immediately took possession of both the bodies and started further legal action. Based on the statements of the family members, a case of murder has been registered against the accused Jaswinder Masih. At present the accused is absconding, and several police teams are continuously raiding possible locations for his arrest.
