Mohanlalganj, Lucknow. Rashtriya Kisan Mazdoor Sangathan has announced an agitation over the Forest Department's objection to the asphalting of roads in rural areas connected to the Nagaram-Khujauli road. The organization will hold a protest on August 19 at the Community Meeting Center in Kubhara. The strategy of the movement was decided in a meeting held at the residence of former chief Ramnaresh Lodhi in Newajkheda on Monday.
According to the officials of the organization, about one kilometer of road from Tikra intersection of Nagaram-Khujauli road to Newajkheda is currently covered with concrete. Due to the objection of the Forest Department, it is not being asphalted. Villagers say that there has been a demand for paving of the road for a long time, but due to lack of solution to the problem, farmers, laborers and villagers are facing problems in transportation.
Similarly, the objection of the Forest Department is being said to be an obstacle in the asphalting of the unpaved road from Kamalapur-Vichilkha Minor to Kubhara. The villagers have to face more problems in transportation due to the bad condition of the unpaved roads during the rainy season.
After the meeting, the officials of the organization did public relations in the surrounding villages including Newajkheda. Reaching every village amid the rain, an appeal was made to the farmers and laborers to join the strike on August 19. Cooperation in the movement was also sought from the village head and villagers, on which they assured their support.
Officials of the organization said that asphalting of roads is a basic need of the villagers. Through a peaceful protest, the demand for removal of obstacles in road construction will be raised before the authorities.
State President Pratap Bahadur, State General Secretary Dinesh Yadav, Divisional General Secretary Haripal Singh, Pradhanpati Ramkumar, Village President Keshav Lodhi, Ram Kumar Yadav, Ramesh Kumar, Arvind Kumar and other officials and villagers were present in the meeting and public relations campaign. The organization has appealed to participate in maximum numbers in the dharna to be held at Kubhra Community Meeting Center on August 19.
