How did this accident happen?
This accident happened on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at around 10 am. The aircraft was landing at Jorhat Air Force Station, also known as Roveria Air Force Station. It was a routine mission. Immediately after the accident, fire brigade and emergency teams were sent to the spot so that rescue operations could be started. The entire Air Force station has been sealed for security reasons.

Indian Air Force said that in this accident, 5 soldiers have made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The names of those martyred are as follows:
- Squadron Leader Prashant Singh
- Flight Lieutenant Shubham Kumar
- Sergeant Jitendra Sharma
- Agniveervayu Khemaram Kumawat
- Agniveervayu Danish Alam
The life of a co-pilot on board the aircraft has been saved, who is currently undergoing treatment at the IAF Medical Facility in Jorhat.
Government and Air Force statement
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma have expressed deep grief over this loss. Rajnath Singh said that the bravery and service of these soldiers will be remembered with pride and gratitude.
The Air Force has launched an investigation to find out the exact cause of the accident. Court of Inquiry Have ordered. Technical teams have started investigating the wreckage of the plane. The Air Force has appealed to the general public to avoid any kind of speculation until the initial results of the investigation come.
