Assam Election 2026 Results: Counting of votes for 126 assembly seats in Assam has started on Monday. This will decide whether the ruling National Democratic Alliance returns to power for the third consecutive time or the Congress-led opposition alliance forms the government. The counting of EVM and postal ballot votes is taking place amid tight security at 40 counting centers set up in all 35 districts of the state. A total of 722 candidates were in the fray in this election, including 59 women. According to the data, BJP seems to be scoring a hat-trick in Assam.
