Guwahati, 10 May. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Sunday met Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya and staked a formal claim to form the new BJP-led NDA government in the state. It is noteworthy that BJP led NDA is going to form the government for the third consecutive time in the north-eastern state. Interesting fact is also that for the first time BJP has single-handedly achieved absolute majority.

Central observer Nadda announced Himanta’s name in the legislature party meeting.
Earlier, Union Minister and BJP Central Observer JP Nadda officially announced Sarma’s name as BJP Legislature Party leader and NDA leader at a meeting held at the BJP state headquarters here. With this, Sarma is going to become the Chief Minister of Assam for the second consecutive time. The swearing-in ceremony of the new government of Assam will be held on May 12 at the playground of Khanapara Veterinary College, Guwahati.

NDA’s top brass including PM Modi will be present at the oath ceremony
After meeting the Governor, Union Minister JP Nadda said while talking to journalists that the Governor will very soon invite Himanta Biswa Sarma to form the next government. Top NDA leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Ministers and BJP President Nitin Naveen will be present at the swearing-in ceremony. Assam government will work with dedication under the leadership of PM Modi.
JP Nadda said that whatever is necessary for Assam, has been done earlier and will be done in future also. The promises that were made to the people of Assam were fulfilled and what was not said was also done. Much more than what has been said now will be done under the leadership of PM Modi.

Meanwhile, BJP President Nitin Naveen congratulated Himanta Biswa Sarma on his election as the leader of the legislature party in Assam. Nitin Naveen wrote in a post on social media platform
