IPL 2026: Urvil Patel scored half-century in 13 balls, showed the slip written ‘This is for you Papa’
IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsman Urvil Patel won everyone’s hearts with his batting. Along with this, he has also written a history. Urvil Patel has scored a half-century in just 13 balls. With this, Urvil has now equaled Yashasvi Jaiswal who had scored a half-century in IPL in just 13 balls. Urvil celebrated in a unique way after scoring his half-century. In the slip that Urvil showed, it was written ‘This is for you Papa’ i.e. ‘Papa, this is for you’.

Urvil Patel achieved this feat while batting against Lucknow. He batted powerfully and completed his half-century in 13 balls. Urvil targeted Digvesh Rathi who came to bowl the last over of the powerplay. He scored 25 runs from this over of Urvil due to which CSK scored 97 runs for one wicket at the end of six overs.
With this, Urvil has become the batsman to score the most runs in the first 10 balls in an IPL innings. He has broken the years old record of AB de Villiers in this matter. In 2015, AB de Villiers scored 41 runs in the first 10 balls against Mumbai Indians. Yashasvi Jaiswal also scored 41 runs in the first 10 balls against KKR in 2023.
Now Urvil has left both of them behind. Urvil scored 42 runs in the first 10 balls in this match against Lucknow.
