Assembly issues notice on membership of Bihar's strong MLA Anant Singh.

Patna: Clouds of crisis are looming over the legislature of Bihar's famous strongman MLA Anant Singh. Bihar Assembly Secretariat has issued a show cause notice to Anant Singh, who is suspended from JDU, and has sought a reply within 7 days. Assembly Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh has sent this notice on the instructions of Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar.

Rebellion took a heavy toll in the Legislative Council elections

The whole matter is related to Legislative Council elections. It is alleged that Anant Singh broke party discipline during the elections and campaigned against JDU's authorized candidate Neeraj Kumar. He took part in opposition activities beyond the party line, which JDU took seriously. Regarding this, JDU state president Umesh Kushwaha had given a written complaint to Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar and demanded action against Anant Singh. After the complaint, investigation into the matter started at the assembly level. However, Anant Singh says that he did not work against the party, but opposed him due to personal resentment against Neeraj Kumar.

Complaint presented with evidence

JDU has also presented many evidences to strengthen its complaint. The party has handed over many other documents including newspaper clippings, CDs of election meetings and audio-video recordings to the Assembly Speaker. This evidence includes evidence related to Anant Singh's rebellious statement and anti-propaganda. After examining all the evidence, Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar directed action as per rules, after which the Secretariat issued a notice to Anant Singh.

Now everyone's eyes are on what answer Anant Singh gives within 7 days. If his answer is not found satisfactory, his assembly membership may be in danger. After this notice, the stir in Bihar politics has intensified.
