New Delhi .Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan is today known for his powerful voice, acting and long film career, but the journey of his early days was not easy. There came a time when he had to face criticism regarding his tall stature and acting. Amitabh shared this experience of his old days during a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati.
Commonwealth Games 2026 gold medalist Lovlina Borgohain also became a part of the conversation with Amitabh Bachchan in the special episode of the program. During this, Jhandu Kumar, Sharmila Dhankar and Asmita Dey were also present. During the conversation, Asmita asked Amitabh if he ever had to listen to scolding on the film sets.
In response to this question, Amitabh remembered the initial phase of his struggle. He told that in the beginning of his career he had to listen to a lot of scolding. He was even told that he did not know how to act and that he was too tall. According to him, some people were of the opinion that he should go home.
Amitabh told that with time he started getting work and the methods of acting started being explained to him on the film sets. Many times he was asked to stand at a particular place and deliver dialogues. However, he also got scolded by the directors for the way he delivered dialogues. Amitabh said that despite such comments, he kept learning and improving his work.
Referring to another incident, Amitabh said that he usually tried to reach on time for the shooting. In the initial phase, he did not have his own car and many times he had to travel by others' cars. One day when he reached the shooting set late, the director was standing there outside.
According to Amitabh, after seeing him the director said that the shooting has been packed up and asked him to leave from there. The actor shared this incident as a memory of his struggling days. It became clear from his statement that in the initial phase, along with getting work, he also had to struggle with the perceptions made about his personality and acting.
Amitabh Bachchan, in his long career, overcame these initial difficulties and created a distinct identity in Hindi cinema. His voice and personality later became part of his biggest identity. The things which were cited as reasons for criticism in the initial stages, later became the special features of his acting personality.
Even at the age of 83, Amitabh Bachchan is working continuously. He is busy shooting for the new episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati. There has been constant discussion about his dedication towards his work. He is also active in the field of acting and is associated with the sequel of the upcoming film Kalki, the shooting of which is going on.
