Athimanoharan shoot progressing smoothly, says director Tharun Moorthy
Thodupuzha: Director Tharun Moorthy has dismissed rumours suggesting that the upcoming Malayalam film Athimanoharan has been shelved or put on hold due to script-related issues, assuring fans that production is proceeding as planned despite weather-related challenges.
The clarification comes after reports circulating online claimed that the highly anticipated film starring Mohanlal had encountered creative hurdles, leading to concerns among fans about the project’s future.
Director denies script-related disruptions
Addressing the speculation through social media, Tharun Moorthy categorically denied claims that the film’s shoot had been halted because of confusion or problems with the screenplay.
The filmmaker said he had received numerous calls and messages regarding reports suggesting that production had stopped due to script issues. He described such claims as completely false and urged people not to spread unverified information.
According to the director, the team has been continuously filming in Thodupuzha and remains committed to completing the project as scheduled.
Weather challenges affect schedules
While rejecting reports of creative difficulties, Tharun acknowledged that adverse weather conditions have impacted certain aspects of the production.
The director revealed that the crew has been shooting in Thodupuzha for the past 78 days, with heavy rainfall occasionally affecting planned schedules.
However, he stressed that the team has been working hard to overcome these obstacles and continue filming with enthusiasm and positivity.
The clarification indicates that any delays experienced by the production are related to weather conditions rather than issues involving the script or creative direction.
Appeal against misinformation
Tharun Moorthy also expressed concern over the growing spread of misinformation on social media platforms.
He appealed to content creators and online users to verify information before publishing or sharing reports about film productions.
According to the director, unverified reports can create unnecessary confusion among audiences and negatively affect the efforts of the cast and crew working on a project.
His statement was welcomed by fans, many of whom had expressed concern after reports of a possible production setback began circulating online.
Mohanlal reunites with Tharun Moorthy
Athimanoharan marks another collaboration between Mohanlal and Tharun Moorthy following the success of Thudarum.
The project has generated considerable anticipation among Malayalam cinema audiences due to the successful partnership between the actor and filmmaker.
Earlier, Tharun had described Athimanoharan as a police procedural drama that combines investigative elements with a strong family-oriented narrative.
The film is expected to present Mohanlal in a distinctive role while balancing suspense, emotion and drama.
