Barbarity in the colony: An innocent child was thrown into a burning tandoor for a ‘rasgulla’; burnt from face to waist

A soul-shattering incident has come to light from Basti district of Uttar Pradesh, which has put humanity to shame. During a marriage ceremony in Malauli Gosai village of Cantonment police station area here, a catering contractor threw an 11-year-old innocent child into a burning tandoor over a dispute over a single rasgulla. The child has been badly burnt by the flames and is currently fighting the battle between life and death in the Medical College of Lucknow.

Innocent Chaman was studying while living in his maternal home.

11-year-old Chaman, a resident of Nawabganj in Gonda district, was living at his maternal home in Baghanala of Basti after the death of his mother. On Wednesday, he had gone with his grandmother to Malauli Gosai village to attend a relative’s wedding. Who knew that this atmosphere of happiness would turn into a disaster for the child.

The stubbornness of a Rasgulla and the contractor became a monster.

According to eyewitnesses, during the meal at the wedding ceremony, Chaman playfully reached the sweet stall and started eating the rasgullas kept there. It is alleged that after seeing the child eating Rasgulla again and again, the catering contractor present there lost his temper. The contractor, who went mad with anger, first caught hold of the child and frightened him and then picked him up and placed him on top of the blazing tandoor. Meanwhile, the innocent child went out of control and fell directly into the fire of the tandoor.

A scene of screams and chaos

There was chaos in the marriage after hearing the child’s painful screams from inside the tandoor. The family members hurriedly took the child out after a lot of effort, but by then the flames had badly burnt the child’s parts from his face to his waist. He was immediately taken to Ayodhya Medical College, where seeing his critical condition, the doctors referred him to Lucknow for better treatment. After committing the incident, the accused contractor fled from the spot.

Police action, raid in search of the accused

As soon as information about the incident was received, Cantonment Police reached the spot and started investigation. On the complaint of the victim’s maternal uncle Devidin Nishad, the police have registered a case against the unknown accused.

According to the police, ‘A child got burnt in the fire during the marriage ceremony. Strict legal action is being taken in this matter. The accused has been identified and police teams are continuously raiding for his arrest. Soon he will be sent behind the bars.
