Apart from this, people have updated their mobile numbers about 49 lakh times. Imagine how much precious time and fuel so many people have saved, which was otherwise wasted in traveling to the Aadhaar centre.
Updating email ID is absolutely free
UIDAI has started a new facility from July 1, giving great relief to the common man. Now you can add or update your email ID directly through the app. Earlier, a fee of Rs 75 had to be paid for this service, but the government has made it completely free till 31 December 2026. Taking advantage of this free facility, 2.5 lakh people updated their email ID in just two days, and till now this figure has crossed 12.5 lakh.
Biometric Lock: Great feature for security
Nowadays, privacy is of utmost importance in view of the increasing cases of cyber fraud. A great security feature is provided in this app – biometric lock or unlock. Through this, you can lock your fingerprint and eye scan data, so that no one can misuse your Aadhaar data. Awareness towards security can be gauged from the fact that till now people have used this feature more than 1.91 crore times.
UIDAI says that this app has been designed in such a way that people’s data remains completely safe.
