How To Activate UAN: Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made some major digital changes for its customers or account holders. It is coming to light that changes will be made in the process of activating the Universal Account Number (UAN) number required for the salaried class. Actually, EPFO has stopped the facility of activating UAN and creating a new UAN through the portal. Now it has been closed on EPFO portal and shifted to UMANG app. Now, if you want to avail the facility of activating UAN and generating new UAN on EPFO portal for the first time, then for this you will have to go to Umang app and login.
It is believed that this change has been made after a major database consolidation and software upgrade. According to EPFO, by doing this your services can be made faster.
How to activate UAN?
Now if you want to activate your UAN on UMANG app, then first download the UMANG app from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Now you will have to register with the mobile number which is linked to your mobile number. With this you will have to register on the app and create a 4 digit M-PIN. After this, now you have to login and write EPFO in the search. After this you have to go to UAN Services Through Face Auth and select “UAN Activation”.
Now enter your UAN, Aadhaar number and mobile number linked to Aadhaar and also enter OTP by clicking on Send OTP. After this you will get the option to install Aadhaar Face RD App and after the app is installed, scan the face through the camera. Now after this you have to enter the name of the member and date of birth. After this, read all the necessary information and click on the submit option. After completion of the process, UAN will be activated and you will be given a temporary password through SMS on the mobile.
How to check UAN activation?
After activating your UAN on umang app, you can also check whether your UAN has been activated or not. In such a situation, go to the section ‘UAN Services through Face Auth’ and go to ‘UAN Allotment and Activation’. Now you have to enter your UAN, Aadhaar number and mobile number and tick the box. After this click on Send OTP and complete your process. Now you will see on the screen whether your UAN has been activated or not.
