IND vs ENG: What Ravindra Jadeja, Ashwin could not do, Axar Patel did it, created history…

India’s all-rounder Akshar Patel made a big record in his name in the second T20 match played against England at the Old Trafford ground in Manchester. The Indian team made a great start by defending the target of 191 runs. Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh put England under pressure by taking two wickets in the very first over. After this, captain Harry Brook tried to change the course of the match by scoring fast runs. He scored 39 runs in just 15 balls.
However, Akshar Patel gave a big success to India in the fifth over. While trying to play a sweep shot, Harry Brook touched the ball with his gloves, which was caught by wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan. The on-field umpire first declared it wide, but India took DRS. Ultra Edge clearly showed that the ball had hit the glove. After this the decision was changed and Brook had to return to the pavilion. With this wicket, Axar Patel became the first Indian spinner and fourth Indian bowler overall to take 100 wickets in T20 International. Bowlers like Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin have also not been able to take 100 wickets in T20 cricket.

Indian batsmen scored important runs

In this match, 15 year old Vaibhav Suryavanshi got a chance to play his first T20 International match for India. He initially hit a brilliant six off Joffra Archer, but could not play a big innings and was out after scoring 14 runs in 14 balls. After this Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan took over the innings. Abhishek scored 43 runs in 24 balls, while Ishaan played an important inning of 49 runs in 40 balls.

England had a bad start

Indian captain Shreyas Iyer also made an important contribution of 37 runs in 22 balls. In the end, Tilak Verma batted fast and added 24 runs, taking India’s score to 190 runs. For England, Sam Curran took the maximum of three wickets, while Joffra Archer, Liam Dawson and Will Jacques got one wicket each. The England team, which came to chase the target of 191 runs, lost three wickets within the powerplay. After the initial shock, the team appeared to be in trouble.
