‘Too much noise…’, Babar Azam again angry on the question of strike rate, showed anger in the press conference
Babar Azam Statement: Despite scoring impressive runs in the Pakistan Super League 2026, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam is once again under criticism regarding his strike rate. After the win against Multan Sultans, when questions were raised on his slow batting, Babar gave a sharp reaction and clearly said that one has to play according to the conditions on the field.

Babar Azam came to open in the match against Multan Sultans, but his bat could not leave much impact. He scored only 18 runs in 20 balls, giving his strike rate of 90. This speed is considered quite slow in T20 format. Although, thanks to Kusal Mendis’s quick inning of 68 runs, Peshawar Zalmi scored 196 runs and won the match by 24 runs, but Babar’s innings remained in the news.

In the press conference after the match, when Babar Azam was questioned about his strike rate, he looked angry. He said that every batsman has to play according to different conditions and match situation. Babar also said that it is not right to focus only on the strike rate, but it is more important to understand the match situation and the needs of the team.

Taking his point further, Babar said that the opposition team also comes on the field with complete preparation, in such a situation it is not possible to play the desired shot on every ball. He clearly said that the player has to change his strategy according to the situation and that is beneficial for the team. According to him, playing aggressive shots without thinking can cause loss to the team.

Ahead in runs, question on strike rate
Talking about statistics, Babar Azam has scored 230 runs in 5 innings so far this season and is third in the list of highest run scorers. However, his strike rate is 130.68, which is less than other top batsmen. This is the reason why despite his consistency, questions are being raised on his batting style and this debate is still going on.
