Promise of a job abroad with a lot of money. An Indian girl fell for the ‘bait’ and went to Portugal. Allegedly, after being taken to that country, she was sold to a liquor shopkeeper. Not only that, she was also allegedly extorted Rs 11 lakh from the girl.

According to police sources, the girl is a resident of Nagpur. Last month, she found out about an organization called ‘We Migrate’ on social media. The girl contacted them in the hope of a job. According to sources, the organization promised her a job in Portugal worth Rs 1.5 lakh per month. The girl was told that she would have to work as a cashier. The working hours were eight hours a day. Not only that, the organization allegedly extorted Rs 11 lakh from her in the name of visa expenses and other documents.

It is learnt that after the girl reached Portugal, the ‘agents’ there took away her passport. She was even allegedly kept in a room for two days. After that, the girl was sold to the owner of a beer shop. Allegedly, she was subjected to extreme mental and physical torture there. After enduring the torture for more than a month, the young woman planned to escape. It is learnt that she first secretly came to Lisbon by bus. Then from there she reached Doha by plane via Madrid. From there she returned to India.
