Bajaj August 12 Launch: Bajaj Pulsar is a name that has reigned supreme in India’s two-wheeler market for over two decades. Now, the company is preparing to give its iconic bike range its biggest update yet. Bajaj Auto has officially confirmed that the new Pulsar will be unveiled on August 12th. This launch will be part of the company’s Pulsar brand’s 25th anniversary, and in the coming months, we can expect to see 10 new or significantly revised Pulsar motorcycles in the 125cc to 160cc segment.
Which new Pulsar will be launched first?
For now, it’s believed that the next-gen Pulsar 160 will be launched first. However, reports suggest that the company could also introduce an updated Pulsar N160 or an entirely new Pulsar 125. While Bajaj hasn’t yet revealed the model name, indications are that it won’t be just a facelift of the existing bike, but rather a major overhaul. The Pulsar 150, launched in 2001 alongside the Pulsar 180, has been one of Bajaj’s most successful bikes. Therefore, the company wants to carry forward this legacy in a new way.
Major changes to design and hardware are expected.
The new Pulsar is expected to be built on a completely new platform. It could feature a new chassis, updated engine, improved suspension, and modern cycle parts. The biggest change is expected to be in the rear suspension. The long-used twin shock absorbers are expected to be replaced by a center-mounted monoshock, which could improve both ride and handling.
However, the bike’s muscular fuel tank and Pulsar’s signature styling are expected to remain. A new tank shroud, sporty body panels, and an all-LED lighting system could make it more attractive than before.
Significant upgrades to features will also occur.
The new Pulsar is expected to feature smart features like a fully digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call and SMS alerts. Recently, the company’s joint managing director, Rakesh Sharma, confirmed significant changes to the Pulsar range. Bajaj is also planning to introduce its first electric motorcycle in the next financial year. Initially, it will be launched in the export market and later in the Indian market.
