Automobile Desk – Bajaj Auto is once again making a big move to maintain its dominance in the Indian two-wheeler market. The company is set to unveil a new incarnation of its popular Pulsar series on August 12, 2026. There’s a buzz within the automobile sector that this new model could be the Pulsar N160, a new-generation Pulsar 150, or a powerful model in the 125cc segment.
Recently, during its first quarter results for the current financial year 2026-27 (FY27), Bajaj Auto unveiled its aggressive strategy for the Indian market. The company clarified that it plans to launch approximately 10 new motorcycles on the road within the next few weeks. This new product portfolio will focus specifically on the high-selling segments of 125cc and 150cc. Therefore, the unveiling event on August 12th is considered the first step in Bajaj’s larger plan.
Sporty look and muscular design
The company’s new model has been spotted testing on Indian roads recently. Leaked images indicate that the new Pulsar will feature a more aggressive and sporty aerodynamic design. The bike’s front is expected to feature a large cowl and a muscular fuel tank with pointed tank extensions on either side. Furthermore, a single-piece, long seat and upright riding position are expected to be provided to ensure rider and pillion comfort. Sporty alloy wheels and a side-sung exhaust will further enhance its visual appeal.
Equipped with digital technology and smart features
Bajaj is expected to utilize a wealth of modern features in its new offering to attract youth. The new bike is expected to feature a fully digital console, which could include features like Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone pairing, call and SMS alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation. With this tech update, Bajaj is preparing to directly compete with rival models from TVS and Hero.
What will be special in the engine and performance?
On the mechanical front, the company is likely to continue with the existing reliable engine setup with a new tuning. If the model comes in a 125cc avatar, it will feature a 124.38cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that generates approximately 11.8 PS of power and 10.8 Nm of torque. The 150cc variant is expected to feature a 149.5cc engine capable of producing 14 PS of power and 13.4 Nm of torque. Both engines are expected to feature a 5-speed gearbox and fuel-injection (FI) technology. The name and exact features will only be revealed after Bajaj’s official announcement on August 12th.
