Delhi Government Minister Kapil Mishra has released a video detailing the Delhi Government’s guidelines for Bakrid.
He wrote on social media, “Sacrifice of cattle, cows, calves, camels and other prohibited animals on Bakid Eid is absolutely illegal. Criminal charges will be filed against those who do so. Sacrifice of animals is not allowed in public places, roads and alleys; legal action will be taken against those who do so. Throwing garbage in sewers, drains or public places after sacrifice is strictly prohibited. Sacrifice can only be done at authorized places. Violation of these guidelines will result in police and Delhi Government development.” The Ministry may be informed.”

Instructions to the officers in the meeting
Earlier, Minister Kapil Mishra, in a meeting with the Development Department on Thursday, directed officials to take strict action against cases of illegal animal transport, illegal slaughter and cruelty to animals. The minister said that during Bakrid, sacrifices will be allowed only at official and fixed places. Slaughter or sacrifice of cows, calves, camels and other prohibited animals shall be strictly prohibited and enforced. The authorities were directed to ensure that sacrifices are not allowed in roads, lanes or any public place. Buying and selling animals in public is also illegal. If such complaints are received, immediate action should be taken.
Notice of Indictment for Violation
The minister said that the remains of animals should not be thrown in the open after sacrifice and the blood should not be allowed to flow on roads or drains. The concerned departments should jointly monitor this. The minister said such cases are punishable offenses under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960. Criminal cases should be filed against illegal slaughterhouses, illegal transport of animals or violators of the law.
Increased surveillance in sensitive areas
The minister directed the local administration, police and concerned departments to maintain special vigilance in sensitive areas. He appealed to the public that if they get information about illegal killings or cruelty to animals, they should immediately inform the authorities.
