Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has signed a new two-year deal to extend his stay at the Allianz Arena until 30 June 2029.
With his previous contract having entered its final year, Kane says he is “very happy” to have his future at the club settled.
The 33-year-old England captain – who last month became the first Bundesliga player in 30 years to win the coveted Ballon d’Or award – is now looking forward to adding to his astonishing haul of 156 goals in 161 competitive appearances since joining Bayern from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
At a press conference, Kane said, “I didn’t have to think about it for long. I’m in the best place I can imagine.”
“We signed the contract yesterday, but the decision was made a long time ago. I know I’m in a great team, that we’re fighting for the Champions League, for all the titles. It’s important for me to be in a place where I can improve. There’s no doubt about that here. My family is happy that we can stay here – all in all, everyone is happy.”
Kane has finished as the Bundesliga’s top scorer in each of his first three seasons in Germany – a feat no player has achieved before. His prolific form helped Bayern reclaim the Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen in 2024/25, before inspiring the club to a domestic double last season.
“We’re delighted to have successfully extended Harry Kane’s contract. This is fantastic news for us, for our fans and for the Bundesliga. The Ballon d’Or winner is staying at Bayern Munich!” commented Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen.
“Since joining us in 2023, he has achieved extraordinary things with his goals, his influence on the game and as a role model both on and off the pitch. He has long since made FC Bayern his home, has continued to develop with us and crowned that development with the Ballon d’Or. His contract extension is a commitment to FC Bayern and to a story that is far from over.”

“This key contract extension gives us certainty in our planning. It sends a message that the biggest goals are within reach at FC Bayern. Players like Harry Kane offer a team unique opportunities,” said Bayern board member for sport board member for sport Max Eberl.
“We’re delighted that he will continue to be a key figure who helps shape the direction of the club, and with whom we can continue to build our squad for the future.”
