BAN vs PAK: Shaheen Afridi enters the club of legends, becomes the 9th bowler
Delhi: Bangladesh has strengthened its hold in the first test match being played against Pakistan. By the end of the fourth day’s play, Bangladesh had scored 152 runs at the loss of 3 wickets in the second innings and its total lead was 179 runs. Now on the last day of the match, it will be interesting to see whether Bangladesh will be able to set a big target for Pakistan or the match will go in the direction of a draw.

Shanto and Mominul took command of the team
Bangladesh did not have a good start in the second innings and the team lost two important wickets for just 23 runs. After this, captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto and experienced batsman Mominul Haq batted brilliantly while handling the innings. Shanto continued the form of the first innings and scored unbeaten 58 runs till the end of the day’s play, while Mominul Haq also batted patiently and played an important inning of 56 runs. The partnership between the two batsmen weakened Pakistan’s hopes of a comeback to a great extent.
Pakistani bowlers tried
However, Pakistan’s bowlers also tried to create constant pressure. Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Abbas and Hasan Ali got one wicket each, but Bangladeshi batsmen showed patience and put the team in a strong position.
Earlier, Bangladesh had scored 413 runs in the first innings. In reply, Pakistan team was all out for 386 runs, due to which Bangladesh got the lead.
Shaheen Afridi achieved a big achievement
Left arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has achieved a big position in international cricket for Pakistan. By taking a wicket on the fourth day of the test match against Bangladesh, Shaheen completed 400 wickets in his international career. With this he has become the ninth bowler to achieve this feat for Pakistan.
The way Afridi has consistently performed brilliantly in a short period of time has brought him into the list of legendary bowlers of Pakistan cricket. With the completion of 400 international wickets, he has cemented his place in the special list with big names like Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal.
The record of taking most wickets in international cricket for Pakistan is held in the name of great fast bowler Wasim Akram. He had taken a total of 916 wickets in his career. After him, Waqar Younis is at second place with 789 wickets.
