Thailand’s capital Bangkok has the lowest average hotel rates of 50 cities assessed in a study of family-friendly destinations at around US$40 per night.
It topped the hotel affordability category in the World’s Most Kid-Friendly Cities Index published by luggage storage company Radical Storage.
Its average rate was much lower than the next two, Kuala Lumpur at $53 and Dubai at $60.

Asian cities accounted for eight of the 10 most affordable destinations, with Warsaw and Frankfurt rounding off the top 10.
The largest number of accommodation options listed as family-friendly was in Tokyo with 1,290, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 1,145, and Dubai with 642.
The low hotel costs come amid a slowdown in Thailand’s tourism industry.
The country received 25.46 million international visitors in the first 10 months of 2026, down 4.59% from a year earlier, according to its Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
Radical Storage, based in Rome, assessed 50 of the world’s most populated cities using data collected in September 2026.
