Bangladesh: Body of diplomat found in Indian High Commission premises in Chittagong, preliminary investigation suggests heart attack.

Dhaka. The body of an Indian diplomat was found on Tuesday in the premises of the Indian High Commission in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Police gave this information. Police said that the deceased officer has been identified as Naren Dhar, who was working as Assistant Protocol Officer in the Indian High Commission. “We have been told that the name of the deceased officer is Naren Dhar, who was serving as an assistant protocol officer at the mission,” Dhaka police spokesman Aminur Rashid told reporters.

According to Rashid, Dhar’s body was found in the early hours of Tuesday in front of the door of a bathroom located on the second floor of the old visa center building of the Indian High Commission. The Indian High Commission in Dhaka or the Assistant High Commission in Chittagong have not yet commented on the development.

Rashid said that prima facie it appears that Dhar may have died due to a heart attack. “However, the cause of death will be confirmed only by the post-mortem report,” he said. According to the police, Dhar was a resident of Chandigarh and his age was between 35 and 40 years.
