Kanpur bank employee Aastha Singh has released a video on social media alleging molestation during e-rickshaw journey. Taking cognizance of the matter, the police have asked them to lodge a formal complaint so that necessary action can be taken after investigation.
Kanpur: Aastha Singh, a famous bank employee associated with HDFC Bank, is once again in the news. By sharing a video on social media, he has accused a person of molestation while traveling in an e-rickshaw. Taking cognizance of the video, the police have advised them to lodge a complaint in the concerned police station.
Serious allegations made in social media video
Kanpur resident Aastha Singh released a video claiming that she was leaving her branch and going to the metro station in an e-rickshaw. According to him, during the journey a co-passenger behaved inappropriately with him and made him feel uncomfortable.
In the video, Aastha Singh said that she protested against the alleged incident and interrupted the person concerned. He claimed that he also recorded a video during the incident. However, these allegations have not yet been independently confirmed.
Police asked to lodge a complaint
Kanpur Police reacted after the video surfaced on social media. The police appealed to Aastha Singh on X (formerly Twitter) to lodge a complaint in the concerned police station giving complete details of the incident.
Police say that after receiving the formal complaint, the matter will be investigated and action will be taken as per rules. Besides, information has also been sought about in which police station area the incident took place.
Discussion increased due to comments on a particular community
In her video, Aastha Singh identified the accused as a person from a particular community and also made comments about the community. There has been a debate on social media regarding this part.
However, it is not considered appropriate to draw conclusions about the entire community on the basis of allegations against an individual. At present, the identity of any accused in the case or confirmation of the allegations will be clear only after the police investigation.

Aastha Singh had earlier come into limelight in January 2026 for a controversial video. At that time, his dispute with a former employee and her husband in the bank premises had gone viral on social media.
Later he also made his side public regarding that incident. Now he is once again in the news after allegations of alleged tampering in e-rickshaw.

At present the case is based on Aastha Singh’s allegations and the video shared on social media. So far, no information about any arrest or official investigation report has been revealed in this regard.
Police say that after receiving the complaint, the facts will be investigated and further action will be taken based on the available evidence. In such cases, the final conclusion can be drawn only after the investigation is completed.
