Bank of India: By Bank of India Global FinTech Fest (GFF) 2026 has launched 12 digital initiatives taking a big step in the field of digital banking. The event, held in Mumbai from September 9 to 11, showcased new facilities related to payments, cards, digital currency, self-service banking, compliance, customer engagement and fintech collaboration. The Bank's stall was inaugurated in the presence of Rajnish Karnataka, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank.
New facility for UPI transactions
The bank has introduced six significant initiatives in the field of digital payments. UPI Help 2.0 will enable customers to view UPI transaction history, report and track complaints and manage UPI mandates related to Bank of India accounts. This facility is included in the Omni Neo mobile app. Apart from this, the Transaction Replay facility allows customers to restart an earlier UPI transaction. The bank has also launched UPI Tap & Pay on PoS facility. Contactless UPI payments can be made by tapping NFC-enabled smartphones on supported PoS machines.

AI agent to pay bills?
The bank has also introduced AI-enabled payment solutions for UPI and RuPay cards. An AI agent can automatically perform tasks such as paying bills, renewing subscriptions or making small purchases after the customer provides the necessary verification and authorization. Customer shall have the right to change or terminate these permissions. IMPS Bulk Payment facility has also been launched in collaboration with NPCI for corporate customers. Through this, a large number of payment requests can be sent simultaneously.
What characterizes Programmable CBDC?
In the field of digital currency, Bank of India has launched User-level Programmable Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) facility. It can specify the specific terms for which digital tokens can be used, in which geographic area or for how long. This technology can be used for targeted grants, relief funds, purpose-based benefits and Direct Benefit Transfer schemes. This technology can help ensure that funds are used for the purpose for which they are provided.
Terra Mastercard World Credit Card
The bank also introduced Terra Mastercard World Credit Card at GFF 2026. It is a contactless international credit card with emphasis on travel, lifestyle and global payment facilities. This card can be used at ATM, PoS and e-commerce platforms. Cardholders will enjoy various benefits related to travel, entertainment, dining, mobility, wellness and digital subscriptions, including airport lounge access. There is no issuance fee for the card; The annual membership fee for the main card is ₹990 and ₹750 for the add-on card, the bank said.
Instant debit card from ATM
Bank of India in collaboration with Hitachi presented Proof of Concept of Android-based Cash Recycler Machine. Along with conventional ATM services, these machines will have facilities like UPI based cardless cash withdrawal, Green PIN generation and real-time debit card issuance. Customers can get a personalized physical debit card instantly from the machine by completing the application and authentication process.
Banking can also be done through voice
By the bank E-Kosha 2.0 also introduced a ToneTag-enabled Conversational Banking solution. This will allow customers to communicate with the bank through voice. In the future, the system may expand to include account services, payments, fund transfers, loans, insurance, investments and customer services. Along with this, the bank has also introduced platforms like ALPHA PLUS, FinTech Connect Portal and Markytics. Through the FinTech Connect Portal, fintech companies will be able to submit proposals to banks without paying any fees. According to Bank of India, all these initiatives are aimed at developing a future-proof, secure and inclusive banking ecosystem.
