Bastar Pandum-2026: Tribal culture of Bastar echoed for the first time in Rashtrapati Bhavan, President Murmu praised it.

Tezzbuzz Desk – A historic moment was witnessed on Thursday in Rashtrapati Bhavan, the highest constitutional building of the country. For the first time, a grand display of Bastar's rich tribal culture, traditional costumes and folk traditions took place in Rashtrapati Bhavan. On this occasion, a 209-member delegation from Bastar led by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai reached Rashtrapati Bhavan, where President Draupadi Murmu warmly welcomed everyone.

During the program, President Draupadi Murmu interacted cordially with the members of the delegation and served them food himself. He praised the tribal culture, folk arts and traditions of Bastar and encouraged the artists and traditional representatives.

The President said that events like Bastar Dussehra and Bastar Pandum present the cultural diversity of India to the world. He also expressed his desire to participate in these events in future.

The artwork of 'Jhitku-Mitki' won hearts

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai presented a special artwork based on the 300 year old folk tale of Bastar 'Jhitku-Mitki' to the President. This memento is considered a symbol of love, dedication, sacrifice and tribal folk faith. President Murmu appeared emotional and impressed after seeing this artwork.

Bastar's culture highly praised

In his address, the President said that Bastar Pandum is a vibrant celebration of the rich tribal culture, folk art and traditions of Chhattisgarh. He said that such events not only connect the youth with their cultural roots but also promote tourism and local employment.

He also said that today Bastar is moving rapidly towards peace, development and cultural renaissance. He also appreciated the expansion of education, roads, electricity and other basic facilities.

Amit Shah also expressed happiness

On this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that he has visited Rashtrapati Bhavan many times, but for the first time he has seen such a large delegation dressed in the traditional tribal costumes of Bastar. He described it as a wonderful example of the cultural diversity of the country.

Chief Minister Sai gave invitation

Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai formally invited President Draupadi Murmu to visit Bastar. He said that the President's visit to Bastar will give a new identity to the tribal culture at the national level and will be inspiring for the local people.

At the end of the program, the delegation also visited Rashtrapati Bhavan and obtained important information related to the democratic and constitutional heritage of the country.
