Batsman became victim of time-out in women’s cricket too, Nepal Cricket apologized
Bhutan’s Ritshi Choden became a victim of time out against Nepal in the ACC Premier Cup. In this match played in Malaysia on Thursday (June 4), Bhutan, chasing the target of 114 runs, got a setback on the very first ball in the form of Ngawang Choden. After this Ritishi Choden was to come to bat but she was not ready. She quickly came to the field with gloves and helmet in her hand and talked to the square leg umpire.
As soon as Choden came to the crease, the Nepal team appealed for time out. Choden took more than 90 seconds to reach the crease and became the first batsman to be timed out in women’s international cricket. However, Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has apologized for the actions of its women’s team. CAN said the time-out was in accordance with the rules but was against the spirit of the game.
