Battle in the water! US warns shipping companies of tougher sanctions if Iran imposes tariffs on Hormuz crossing

The missile war is off for now. But the water war continues over the occupation of the Strait of Hormuz. The US on Sunday threatened international shipping organizations with tougher sanctions if it imposes tariffs on Iran for safe shipping. America is trying to create financial pressure on Tehran in various ways after the cessation of hostilities. The Trump administration warned the global shipping companies based on that source.

On this day, the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued a guideline. It said Iranian government agencies were previously prohibited from paying tariffs on US citizens and companies. Now others may also face sanctions if they pay Iran. It has been noted that companies that own ships that call at Iranian ports could be at risk of US sanctions.

Pakistan is mediating to stop America’s conflict with Iran. Trump rejected Iran’s latest peace proposal sent through them. He informed that Washington will not leave before the scheduled time. Because, they don’t want the same problem to arise again after three years. In addition, the US President took a dig at Tehran and said, “Their leadership is completely disorganized. Everyone wants to reach an agreement, but there is utter chaos among themselves…” In the wake of this crackdown, America warned global shipping companies.

In an interview given to Iranian media on Saturday, Mohammad Zafar Asadi, the country’s army officer, said, “There is a situation for a new conflict between Iran and America. America is now ready to clean up the mess it has spread. Their current actions and statements are just propaganda.” He also said, “If the US armed forces take any new adventure, show foolishness, then we are ready to give a strong response.” On the other hand, the US president also responded to Iran’s threat. “I have reviewed the Iranian proposal. But it is not acceptable. They will have to pay for what they have done to humanity and the whole world in the last 47 years. If there is any atrocity, America will start shelling Iran again,” he said while meeting reporters in Florida on Saturday.
