The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will hold its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the Board headquarters in Churchgate on September 18, 2026. The selection of India’s official representative to the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the granting of Associate Membership to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Cricket Association are high on the agenda.

Eye on ICC representative and IPL Governing Council elections
According to an official notice issued to member associations, the main focus of the AGM will be the nomination of a BCCI representative to the ICC Board. Additionally, two representatives of the General Body will be elected to the Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council during the meeting. A representative from the Indian Cricketers’ Association (ICA) will also be included in the Governing Council.
The way will be opened for the players of Andaman and Nicobar
The meeting will propose granting Associate Membership to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Cricket Association. The issue was discussed initially at the last BCCI Apex Council meeting and is now being presented to the General Body for final approval.
If this proposal is passed, the Union Territory will officially join the BCCI structure. Currently, 38 teams participate in the BCCI’s approved domestic structure. With associate membership, the Andaman Association will not have voting rights, but its players will have direct access to BCCI development programs and official tournaments.
