BCCI ACSU Action: After the success of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL, T20 league is being played in different states of the country. The aim of these leagues is to provide opportunities to the local players so that they can perform at a higher level. However, due to these increasing leagues, the chances of incidents like match fixing and spot fixing increase. In such a situation, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has also come in alert mode.
The anti-corruption unit of the board is making full preparations to curb match fixing. This is the reason why state level T20 leagues have come on the radar of BCCI. The teams of the Board’s Anti-Corruption Unit are constantly keeping an eye on the officials and players associated with these leagues.
Most questions on this league
According to the Indian Express, BCCI’s Anti Corruption and Security Unit (ACSU) has learned that bookies and suspicious persons are contacting team owners, organizers and players. This is completely against the code of conduct and rules of the game. In such a situation, the team of BCCI’s Anti Corruption Unit is keeping an eye on the owners, organizers and players of the State T20 League teams, who may be involved in suspicious activities. Let us tell you that this is the first time that ACSU is covering all the matches of the state leagues. Earlier, only Test matches, IPL and other main matches were covered completely.
Hotel meeting is also being monitored
Apart from the state leagues, the teams of BCCI’s anti-corruption unit are also keeping an eye on the meetings held in hotels. During the match, the players and the people meeting them are being monitored in the hotel. According to the report, some teams of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) were found involved in corruption related activities in the last season, due to which this action is being taken. ACSU believes that these suspicious activities are not limited to TNPL only.
