The Indian team had toured Ireland and England during June and July. During this period the team played two T20 series and one ODI series. India’s performance in these three series was completely contrary to expectations. Out of total 10 matches, Team India had to face defeat in 8 matches, while one match was canceled and India could win only one match.
The biggest shock came against Ireland, where the Indian team lost 0-2 for the first time in a bilateral series. This was considered a big upset for Indian cricket. After this, the team’s performance did not improve even on the England tour. England made a clean sweep of India in the T20 series and also won the ODI series.
