Rahul Gandhi congratulated the students on the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, said – ‘Proud of all of you’

Tezzbuzz Desk – After the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, congratulated the students involved in the movement and called it a big victory for the struggle of the youth. He said that this decision is an important step towards improving the education system of the country, but there are still two important responsibilities left before the government.

Addressing students on social media, Rahul Gandhi said, “Well done students across the country, proud of all of you. My best wishes to every youth who has taken to the streets and raised their voice peacefully to protect democracy, the Constitution and their future.”

He said that Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation is only the beginning. According to him, the government will have to take further concrete steps to restore confidence in the education system and protect the interests of students.

Rahul Gandhi placed two new demands before the government

Rahul Gandhi said that despite the resignation of the Union Education Minister, two major demands have still not been met. They demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi publicly apologize to the students and action should be taken against the officials responsible for the violence and use of force during the student movement.

He said that real courage is to stand up for one’s rights democratically. Rahul Gandhi also appealed to farmers, labourers, youth and other sections of the society to raise their voice in a constitutional manner.

Why did Dharmendra Pradhan resign?

On Saturday, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that he is extremely saddened by the developments that have taken place in the last few days. He clarified that this matter was not a matter of personal prestige for him and he had accepted his responsibility from the beginning.

Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation has come at a time when students were continuously protesting across the country, including Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, over the NEET 2026 paper leak controversy.

Three demands were placed earlier also

After the student protest on July 20, Rahul Gandhi held a press conference and placed three major demands before the central government. These included the resignation of the Union Education Minister, action against those who used force on students during the movement and the Prime Minister apologizing to the students.

Now the Education Minister has resigned, but Congress says that the government should take a decision on the remaining two demands soon.

After the NEET 2026 paper leak controversy, students were continuously protesting demanding improvement in the examination system, action against those responsible and resignation of the Union Education Minister. Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation was among the main demands of the agitators. Now after this decision, political rhetoric has intensified and the opposition is continuously raising questions about further action from the government.
