After 4 days, Delhi Metro removed all security restrictions, now entry-exit for passengers has started at every station.

New Delhi: All the metro stations in Delhi which were temporarily closed due to security reasons have now been completely opened for passengers. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced that entry and exit services have been normalized again at all the metro stations in the capital. With this, lakhs of passengers have got great relief, who were facing problems in traveling for the last four days.

Restrictions were imposed due to security reasons

Due to the recent protests, entry and exit were banned at many major metro stations in Central Delhi due to security reasons. These included Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, Janpath, New Delhi, ITO, Supreme Court, Khan Market, Lok Kalyan Marg and other major stations.

Although metro trains continued to operate during this period, passengers were not allowed to exit or enter these stations. Only passengers making interchange were given the facility to change lines.

Daily commuters faced problems

Thousands of office going people had to face a lot of difficulties due to the stations being closed. Many passengers had to resort to buses, autos and taxis, due to which the traffic pressure on the roads also increased. Especially in the areas of Central Delhi, people had to travel long distances and spend extra time.

DMRC informed about resumption of normal services

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation informed through social media platform ‘X’ that now entry and exit services have been started normally at all the stations of the entire metro network. Along with this, the operation of Metro is also continuing smoothly as before.

Vibrancy returned to busy stations

After the opening of the station, crowds of passengers were once again seen at busy stations like Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Mandi House and New Delhi. Ticket counters and Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates have reopened.

The lifting of security restrictions has not only brought relief to metro passengers, but the pressure on road traffic is also expected to reduce. Now lakhs of people traveling daily will be able to avail the metro service like before without any extra hassle.
