The state government has increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) of employees by a whopping 8 percent. About 4 lakh employees and 3.5 lakh pensioners of the state are going to get direct and huge benefits from this big and masterstroke decision of the government. After this increase, the anger and agitation of the employees which was going on continuously for the last one month has now completely ended.
From the month of October, you will get increased salary and DA will increase.
For your information, let us tell you that a few days ago, Aam Aadmi Party Punjab President Aman Arora had made this official announcement after an important meeting between the government and employee union leaders. There was a long conversation for about 90 minutes between the government delegation led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the leaders of various employee unions.
Aman Arora clarified that this increased dearness allowance will be given directly by adding it to the employees' salary for the month of September. He is going to get his salary for the month of September on October 1, after which his total DA will increase to 50%. However, this entire payment will be completed in two separate installments of four percent each.
This increase has been made as a goodwill gesture till the court's decision.
According to government representative Aman Arora, this increase in dearness allowance has been done as a matter of mutual goodwill. He also told that a legal decision related to this entire matter is still pending in the court.
However, in the meeting, both the parties have agreed that they will not drag the ongoing court case further and will resolve all the issues only through mutual dialogue and consensus. Arora also said that government employees themselves are a very important part of the government and it is very important for the government and employees to work together to take the state of Punjab forward on the path of progress.
12 big employee organizations participated in the meeting
This high-profile and successful meeting between the government and the employees was attended by the main representatives of 12 different employee unions. During this important meeting, many other senior leaders including State Cabinet Minister Baljit Kaur and Aman Arora were also present, who together finally found a positive solution to this issue.
