After Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, now Jharkhand government has given great news by announcing a bumper increase of up to 9 percent in DA of its government employees and pensioners. Jharkhand government gave a big gift, DA increased in three different pay scales. In the cabinet meeting of Jharkhand, a big decision has been taken in the interest of the employees and pensioners of the state. The government has made a significant increase in the dearness allowance of the employees covered under different pay commissions: 7th Pay Commission: The DA of the employees covered under the 7th pay scale has been increased from 58 percent to 60 percent (an increase of 2%). 6th Pay Commission: In this category, DA has been increased from 257 percent to 262 percent, that is, there is a direct increase of 5 percent. 5th Pay Commission: The biggest benefit has been given to the employees in the fifth pay scale. Their allowance has been increased from 474 percent to 483 percent, which is a huge increase of 9 percent. With this step of the government, there will be a bumper jump in the salary and pension of thousands of government servants and pensioners of the state. Bihar: Bihar government has also announced an increase of 5 percentage points in DA of its employees and pensioners covered under the 6th Pay Commission, due to which their dearness allowance has increased from 257% to 262%. Maharashtra: Maharashtra government has also given a big gift to its employees before the election year by increasing the dearness allowance. The states of North-East and South also opened the treasury. In the month of May, not only the Hindi belt, but also other parts of the country have showered allowances on the employees: Arunachal Pradesh: On May 6, the state government increased the DA of about 69,248 regular employees and All India Service officers by 2%, increasing it from 58% to 60%. This benefit has come into effect from January 1, 2026. Tamil Nadu: Chief Minister MK Stalin on May 14 increased DA by 2% for 16 lakh employees, teachers and pensioners of the state. With this decision, DA has become 60% of the basic salary and will put an additional burden of ₹ 1,230 crore annually on the state treasury. After this increase in DA by all the states, the expectations of the central employees have also increased that the central government may soon announce increase in DA from 58% to 60% or more under the 7th Pay Commission.
