Bengal Transfer News: Bengal government made a major reshuffle, transferred 179 IPS and WBPS officers

Kolkata. The West Bengal government on Monday transferred 179 Indian Police Service (IPS) and West Bengal Police Service (WBPS) officers across the state. These also include officers of Kolkata Police Commissionerate. This is the biggest such exercise after BJP came to power. According to a notification, of the 179 officers transferred, 151 are Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, while the rest are West Bengal Police Service (WBPS) officers.

Muralidhar Sharma becomes Inspector General of Police in Intelligence Branch

According to the notification, Rajesh Kumar Yadav and Gaurav Sharma have been appointed Inspector General of Police (IGP) in the State Special Task Force (STF), while former Bidhannagar Police Commissioner Muralidhar Sharma has been posted as Inspector General of Police (IGP) in the Intelligence Branch. Kunal Aggarwal has been made the new Additional Commissioner of Crime Branch in Kolkata Police, while Mukesh has been appointed as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Kolkata Armed Police.

Joy Biswas becomes Railway IGP in the state

A notification issued by the state Home and Hill Affairs Department said that Syed Waqar Raza will take over as the Police Commissioner of Siliguri, the largest city of North Bengal, while Joy Biswas has been made the Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Railways in the state. Surya Pratap Yadav has been made the joint police commissioner of traffic in the Kolkata Police Commissionerate, while Soumya Roy will be the senior superintendent of the enforcement wing of the state police. According to the notification, several appointments at the level of Deputy Commissioner of Police have been made in Kolkata Police.

Ishani Paul has been made Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-West Division, Sayak Das has been made Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Division, Praveen Prakash has been made Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Division, Shiba Prasad Patra has been made Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhangar Division, KU Ganpat has been made Deputy Commissioner of Police, South Suburban Division, YS Jagannathrao has been made Deputy Commissioner of Police, Detective Department and Subimal Paul has been made Deputy Commissioner of Police, Eastern Suburban Division. Chandrashekhar Bardham will be the superintendent of police of Diamond Harbor district, while K Sunny Raj has been made the superintendent of police of Purulia, the notification said.
