Woman accused of molestation in moving BMTC bus, driver caught the accused and beat him up; VIDEO VIRAL

Bengaluru Bus Incident: The video of an alleged molestation incident that took place inside a BMTC (Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation) bus in Bengaluru is becoming increasingly viral on social media. In a viral video, a woman is seen confronting a man traveling in a bus, accusing him of sexual harassment.

After this, the bus driver intervened and caught the accused and also had a scuffle with him. The incident is said to have happened on July 24 in a BMTC bus running between Hebbal and Manyata Tech Park. However, no official complaint has been lodged with the police in this matter yet and there has been no independent confirmation of the allegations.

Bus driver beats up accused for molesting woman

In the viral video, a woman wearing a white top is seen confronting the accused with her mobile phone. The accused was standing near the front door of the bus without a shirt and a cloth with blue stripes was visible in his hand. After the woman made the allegation, the bus driver, identified as Praveen, immediately reached the spot and caught hold of the accused.

In the video, the driver is seen slapping and kicking the accused. It was told that during interrogation the accused spit on the driver, after which the dispute escalated further. During this time, another passenger present in the bus also helped the driver and held the accused.

The woman is also seen pushing and slapping the accused, while other passengers watched the entire incident. During the incident the bus was either stopped or moving very slowly and the doors were closed, due to which the accused could not get out of the bus immediately.

Video of driver’s action went viral

After the video went viral, mixed reactions of people have emerged on social media. Many users praised the bus driver for supporting the woman and immediately intervening. Some people said that the allegations are serious and the matter should be investigated impartially under the legal process.

Till the time of writing the news, neither the police has officially confirmed the allegations nor the identity of the accused has been made public. Also, it is not clear whether BMTC has started any internal investigation regarding this incident or not. At present, there is a debate going on on social media regarding the safety of women and security arrangements in public transport regarding the viral video.
